Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year. There's something so magical about the crisp air, the falling leaves, and the promise of cosy nights indoors. It's the perfect season to curl up with a good book and a warm drink, and that's exactly the vibe I'm aiming for with my new collection.
Getting started
To kickstart the design process, I used Canva's whiteboard feature to create a mood board filled with images that inspire me. Think fun quotes, stacks of books, and cosy corners. This visual inspiration has been really helpful in shaping the direction of my designs.
A tight schedule!
When putting together a new collection, I always consider the timeline of how long it takes to get different types of products manufactured and delivered to Sunshine Lane HQ. The items that take the longest are always enamel pins and washi tapes.
I'm attending the South West Planner Club event in September and I would LOVE to be able to launch this collection there. But, this means I'm going to be on an extremely tight schedule (and may need to sweet-talk my pin manufacturer!). Because I'm determined to make it happen, I knew I would have to focus on my pin designs first.
Let's get designing!
So, with my moodboard in hand, I set about sketching some initial designs. From 6 initial designs, I narrowed it down to 3 favourites and worked on finalising these designs for manufacturing.
And I'm excited to say, here's a first look at the 3 bookish enamel pins that will be coming to this collection!
I'm planning on creating stickers, prints, washi and other goodies to complement the enamel pins. I can't wait to see how this collection comes together!
